Description

The first mass getaway of the year is here. Over Easter, hundreds of thousand of UK holidaymakers will be flying off for a break.

For most, this will be perhaps one of only two airport visits a year. Airports can be stressful if you're not confident in the processes. Airports add to the stress by adding fess and charges that most people wouldn't expect.

After all, you wouldn't expect a supermarket to charge you for using it. Especially if there is a compulsory requirement.

Airlines such as Ryanair get a bad press for all the extras your need to pay to improve your flying experience. Airports seem to be able to get away with it.

This week I cover the fees, which aren't always mentioned on the airport's website, fees such as using a trolley and having to pay for a plastic bag in security.

I also cover travel use from the last seven days, including a handgun that made it through security checks at an airport in the US and more on the laptop ban.
