"Let’s be clear—tourism isn’t pocket change in White Pine County, it’s a powerhouse. That Mine golf tournament the first weekend of August? Visitors spent nearly sixty thousand dollars here in just two days. Arts in the Park added even more.

Tourism pumps $64 million a year into our economy, generating six million in tax revenue—that’s an $1,800 savings for each and every household. And yet, our County Commission treats it like an afterthought.

In a county built on mining and agriculture, tourism is the second-largest economic driver. It keeps our restaurants, hotels, and small businesses alive. Ignoring it isn’t just shortsighted—it’s reckless. Our leaders are turning their backs on one of the strongest pillars of our economy. White Pine County deserves commissioners who understand that."
