In a recent commentary we mentioned that the lack of preparation and proper conduct by this White Pine County Commission made them look like buffoons, to quote precisely, I said, “Because the people backing you aren’t the ones looking like buffoons, and you do.” Now make no mistake, there are well heeled and financially secure individuals who work behind the scenes to back this commission, who push the commission to support their pets like JCR Development, a company which hadn’t completed a project properly in years. Those Good Old Boys, as we’ve often referred to them, deliver support, votes, and in some cases, campaign financing which may not have ever been properly reported as required by state law. And so today, we apologize. Not to the commissioners, not to their good old boy backers, but to the buffoons who resented being compared to the White Pine County Commission. We apologize for the insult. We agree. White Pine County deserves far, far better.
