In this episode of LaVOZ Podcast we’re diving deep into a story that has shaken Colombia and the Catholic Church: the investigation by journalists Juan Pablo Barrientos Hoyos and Miguel Ángel Estupiñán, who uncovered over 700 priests accused of sexual abuse across the country. Their work started in 2018, requesting records from church areas about accused priests. Many authorities refused, citing confidentiality, so Barrientos and Estupiñán filed dozens of lawsuits to obtain the information. Even with only about 13% of the data, they documented hundreds of cases—and the numbers may rise as more records are released.
