Thelma J. Love. Thelma was born in Arcola, TX, a small city in Fort Bend County, within the Houston-Sugar Land-Missouri City metropolitan area. During Thelma’s early years growing up in Arcola with her parents and 11 siblings, the population was predominantly Black American and her village was filled with uncles, aunts, cousins, or long-time trusted neighbors. She started teaching after she left home and joined the United States Air Force. She started teaching Sunday School classes at various churches, then she taught professional military education courses while serving in the Air Force, and Franklin Covey classes (training and assessment in the areas of leadership, individual effectiveness, and business execution) at a San Antonio college, and she eventually taught real estate classes with Keller Williams Realty and the San Antonio Board of Realtors after retiring from the Air Force. After a 20-year career in the Air Force, Thelma served the San Antonio community as a realtor. Her first book, “A Perfectly Imperfect Masterpiece,” was published this year. Thelma is a woman of faith, wisdom, and talent for public speaking.
