According to the Sacramento District Attorney’s Office, in the North Sacramento area on October 30, 2025, a jury convicted Darquan Jackson and Alizey Whitfield of first-degree murder and assault with a semi-automatic firearm in connection to the January 2020 shooting death of Hubert Calimee at a Ramada Inn party. Whitfield was also convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm. The case is believed to have a gang motivation, and the firearms were not recovered.
