Description

After a weekend stay in Phoenixville, PA and catching wind of the iconic Blobfest, Joe and Rob couldn't resist diving into the gooey, creeping terror that is The Blob (1958). This week on Tales, Trails and Taverns, the guys review the cult classic that helped shape the sci-fi horror genre—and yes, we talk about that scene in the Colonial Theatre, which still stands proud today and looks eerily similar to its big-screen moment of chaos.
While the nostalgia hits hard and Steve McQueen’s breakout role brings vintage charm, we also discuss how the practical effects of the era have aged (spoiler: some better than others). Still, there's a charm to the slow-moving gelatinous terror that newer horror flicks can’t quite replicate.
Join us as we ooze our way through memories, monster movies, and a town that still celebrates its cinematic claim to fame. It’s a Horror Movie Monday that’s part history, part review, and all Blob.
