I was really surprised at the generalities of the proposals for the Convention of States. My biggest concern going into anything like this is that it doesn't turn into a Constitutional Convention, where the entire Constitution is subject to abolishment and rewrite, and you know the Left would win and we'd have no Constitution at all. My guests felt that there are enough safeguards in place that this won't happen. I contended that without specific amendments going in, and strict rules that no changes, nor new amendments can be added, anything can be written during the Convention regardless of the intentions before the Convention. I heard that only 33 States are necessary to call a Convention of States, but you know that the Conservatives States will get this going, and then the Leftist States will demand to be let in. Overall, there are way too many risks to let this process go any further. I think, once officially started, this process will be impossible to control, and so I'm against it.
