The prophet Jeremiah preached the Word of God to a nation that was enslaved by the works of the flesh. He faithfully preached to people who did not want to hear his disturbing message. In fact, the theme of his book is conflict and hope. He tried to stop speaking for God at one point in his ministry, but he could not help but to speak his Word. He said that the Word was in him like a fire in his bones!
