one of the greatest gifts we can give our children isn’t material—it’s memories. Precious, faith-filled memories that anchor them in love, laughter, and legacy. Think of Joshua leading the Israelites into the Promised Land (Joshua 4). After crossing the Jordan River, God instructed the people to set up twelve stones as a memorial—so that future generations would remember what God had done. It wasn’t just a pile of rocks. It was a story. A moment. A memory of God’s faithfulness. In the same way, godly parents are called to build “memorials” in our homes—not with stones, but with moments: family devotions at the breakfast table, nighttime prayers, spontaneous worship in the living room, laughter around the dinner table, and shared service to others. These moments become the stories our children will carry into adulthood—reminders of how they saw God at work in the everyday.
