Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” — 1 John 3:18 (NIV)
Love is more than just saying “I love you.” It’s found in the daily decisions, the consistent presence, the grace offered after mistakes, and the patience shown in teaching. As godly parents, our homes become the first place our children learn what love looks like—and whether it reflects the love of God. Think of the parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11–32). The father didn’t just speak of love; he lived it. Even when his son wandered away and returned in shame, the father ran to meet him, embraced him, restored him, and celebrated him. This kind of love—grace-filled, compassionate, and unwavering—is the love our children need to see modeled every day.
