There is no greater gift that godly parents can give their children than the gift of intercession. While we can provide for their physical needs and train them in godly ways, it is only through prayer that their hearts can be truly transformed and their paths directed by the Lord. Interceding for our children is an act of surrender, acknowledging that we cannot protect or guide them by our own strength. We must daily bring them before the Lord, asking Him to cover them with His grace, wisdom, and protection. Just as Job regularly offered sacrifices for his children (Job 1:5), so must we lift our children up in prayer, standing in the gap for them.
