Reflection
Managing family finances isn’t just about numbers—it’s about wisdom, stewardship, and trust in God. The Bible teaches that every resource we have—our income, possessions, and even our opportunities—comes from the Lord. As parents and leaders in our homes, we are called to steward what God has entrusted to us, not just spend it. In the story of Joseph in Egypt (Genesis 41), we see a powerful example of wise stewardship. When Pharaoh’s dreams revealed years of abundance followed by famine, Joseph—guided by God—developed a plan to save grain during the good years. His wisdom not only preserved Egypt but also sustained many nations, including his own family. Joseph’s story reminds us that financial wisdom is not about fear, but about faith and foresight—acting with prudence today for the sake of tomorrow. Stewardship also means teaching our children about money from a biblical perspective: that everything we have belongs to God, and we are simply managers of His blessings. When families learn to save, give, and spend with purpose, they build a foundation of peace, generosity, and gratitude—a legacy that outlives them.
