Clarification; Same Sex Marriage versus Civil Unions, Article [1] Amendment 1 - Freedom of Expression and Religion - Article XIV Amendment 14 - Rights Guaranteed Special Guest Dr Charles Tolbert, Founder of Citizens for a Better America This article is being written to explain the rights of citizens in United States of America as written in the U.S. Constitution and the enforcement of Article 1 (Amendment 1) and Article XIV (Amendment 14). It is important that the reader completely understands both articles prior to reading the reasons Ministers and Religion object to the term (SAME SEX MARRIAGES). There are several scriptures which also should be read in order for the reader to conclude when article one has precedence over article 14.The Equal Protection Clause is part of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution. The clause, which took effect in 1868, provides that no state shall deny to any person within its jurisdiction “the equal protection of the laws”.A primary motivation for this clause was to validate and perpetuate the equality provisions contained in the Civil Rights Act of 1866, which guaranteed that all people would have rights equal to those of white citizens. As a whole, the Fourteenth Amendment marked a large shift in American constitutionalism, by applying substantially more constitutional restrictions against the states than had applied before the Civil War.Article XIV (Amendment 14 – Rights Guaranteed: Privileges and Immunities of Citizenship, Due Process, and Equal Protection) Learn more at  http://www.cfabamerica.com/clarification-same-sex-marriage-versus-civil-union-article-i-amendment-1-freedom-of-expression-and-religion-article-xiv-amendment-14-rights-guaranteed Email cfabamerica@gmail.com
