Baby Boomers are currently entering a unique stage of life that is filled with both positive/negative change and increased stress. Whether it's adjusting to retired life or having to support both their children and elderly parents, they require mechanisms for dealing with these life transitions. Unfortunately, for approximately 4 million of boomers across the country, the coping mechanism of choice is substance abuse. Dr. Barbara Krantz is medical director at the Hanley Center, a nationally recognized non-profit provider of alcohol and drug addiction treatment that specializes in treatment programs for baby boomers. She can provide  insight into how "stage of life" issues among baby boomers make them more prone to addiction compared to other age groups. The Doctor can also provide tips and advice on how individuals can avoid turning to drugs and alcohol in order to manage stress. We will dicuss examples of the stressful “stage of life” issues, and solutions with Dr. Krantz. ·
