Description

In their last episode of 2022, Katie and Liz share the details of the devastating and deadly Station Nightclub Fire of 2003 in West Warwick, Rhode Island. A cold February night brought over 400 patrons to the club to watch the performance of heavy metal band Great White. Within seconds of the band arriving on stage, their tour manager set off unapproved pyrotechnics, which quickly ignited the acoustic foam surrounding the stage. Panic and confusion ensued quickly with a massive crowd crush occurring, as well as the release of poisonous gases from the flames. This event remains the 4th deadliest nightclub fire in American history, with exactly 100 perishing from the tragedy.
