This week on True Crime New England, Katie and Liz take you to Burlington, Vermont, where they discuss perhaps one of the only true crime cases in New England that has a connection to Ted Bundy. On July 19th, 1971, shy teacher Rita Curran had come home from her barbershop quartet rehearsal and got ready for bed, while her two roommates and a third friend went out to dinner. Upon returning to their unlocked, ground-level apartment, they discovered a horrifying scene: a brutally beaten and stabbed Rita, dead on her bedroom floor. Numerous leads and suspects were followed up with, which yielded no results. To this day, over 50 years later, Rita's disturbing murder has never been solved. Anyone with any information on the murder of Rita Curran is asked to please call the Burlington Police Departments’ cold case tip line at (802) 540-2421.
