I have a dream...Celebrating Our Jubilee! Our forefathers and mothers planted trees from which we gather fruit, and dug wells from which we quench our thirst. Civil Rights Activist marched for us, died for us and pleaded for our equality. So what are we leaving behind for our communities today? What are we fostering in the minds of our Black children? How will we strengthen our families and our communities? How will we show the power of LOVE in the world? How are we Leading Change? Just over fifty years ago, Dr. King's "I Have a Dream..." Speech debuted in Detroit and transformed a nation. Today, we, the residents of Detroit, are uniting to become a beacon of light and love to usher in greater transformation within our capacity to love that will impact this city, nation and the world. As Detroit goes, so does the nation. Grass roots organizations and communities in Detroit are raising the bar on what's possible for us as Humans by elevating our consciousness to envision our lives as spirits in human form co-creating a world that reflects love, unity, compassion and Power. Find their destiny so you can powerfully play a role in Detroit's Re-birth that causes the world to notice! Today, we are turning our discussion to our education system as school is resuming next week in our city. We want to encourage dialogue on what are the expectations for our children during their educational journey and how it translates to them becoming a part of society. What role is expected of them that is reflecting in the education they receive? Is it inclusive of the children's culture and societal experiences or is it a mirage of the life they have no hope of achieving? It's time to have this conversation. Remember, we are powerful, and together we rise!
