Elder John D. Amos was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in April 2025. He has served in numerous Church callings, including bishop, stake presidency counselor, mission president, and Area Seventy. He earned engineering degrees from Southern University–Baton Rouge and the University of Central Florida and is retired from the United States Navy Reserve and Siemens Energy. He and his wife, Michelle, are the parents of three children.
