Join us for a new series we're calling "Superhero Hall of Fame" in which we go back to classic superhero movies and ask whether these movies hold up and whether the superhero genre has anything going for it, or whether it was all a fad.
This week we start by looking at Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" from 2002 starring Tobey Maguire, Willem Dafoe and Kirsten Dunst, in which we talk about how the movie holds up today, how its corniness and earnestness is a refreshing change of pace from today's superhero movies and how its focus on character is what makes the movie work.
