Rhonda Mace, affectionately known as "Recycle Rhonda," is a passionate environmental educator and school outreach coordinator for the Chittenden Solid Waste District (CSWD) in Vermont. With a background in entomology—once aspiring to teach high school science as a self-proclaimed "bug-ologist"—Mace pivoted her love for nature into a dynamic career promoting sustainability. She visits schools across Chittenden County, engaging students from kindergarten through college with hands-on activities like worm composting farms, waste audits, and catchy recycling jingles ("One, two, five, keep the earth alive!"). Her infectious enthusiasm has inspired countless "Planet Protectors" through initiatives like the Recycle Rally Challenge and Battery Blitz contests, fostering a new generation of eco-conscious Vermonters. Outside work, Mace enjoys hiking, biking the local paths, gardening for homegrown meals, and spotting insects in the wild.
