Too often, we ask God for things in prayer and wonder why the answer hasn’t come. We say, “God, You said if I ask, it will be given.” And that’s true — Scripture makes that promise clear. Jesus said in John 14:13, “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” But here’s where many of us miss it: we ask, but we don’t truly believe. Faith isn’t just asking. It’s believing that what God said is already done. It’s standing firm when everything around you says give up. It’s keeping your heart set on God's truth when your eyes can’t see the answer. Many of us fail to see God’s power move in our situation because deep down, we don’t believe He will move. We speak words of faith with our mouths, but our hearts are heavy with doubt. We say “God will make a way,” but we panic the moment trouble shows up. Faith says, "I believe in the way, even when I don’t see the road."Sometimes the issue isn’t that God isn’t answering — it’s that He’s answering in a way we don’t expect. You may be praying for a relationship, a job, a breakthrough, or healing. But if what you're asking for doesn’t align with God’s perfect will for your life, then in His love, He may say “Not that.” That doesn’t mean He’s denying you. It means He’s redirecting you toward something better.
