Gia Drew who is the executive director of Equality Maine speaks about the 8 different bills that were ultimately defeated in the Maine Legislature regarding restricting the rights of LGBTQ+ folks living in Maine. At least 28 other states led by Republican majorities have passed legislation that will roll back protections that transgender students currently enjoy in Maine, such as bathrooms and locker rooms access, participation in school athletics and the use of affirming pronouns.
