Description

The death toll in Jamaica from Hurricane Melissa (not Beryl, which affected the island in 2024) continues to rise, reaching at least 32 fatalities as of early November 2025, while aid efforts are struggling to reach many isolated communities due to impassable roads and widespread destruction. The powerful Category 5 hurricane left parts of the island in ruins, impacting over 1.5 million people.
