Proverbs 14:22If you plan to do evil, you will be lost; if you plan to do good, you will receive unfailing love and faithfulness.Proverbs Daily is a reader-supported publication. When you see the word “upgrade,” you’re simply invited to help me make the sacred positively contagious...thank you in advance for becoming a free or paid subscriber. And the Nobel Peace Prize goes to… María Corina Machado! “Not Trump?...No.”María Corina Machado — the Venezuelan opposition leader — a woman in hiding, risking everything. Now honored with the world’s highest peace prize for standing up to dictatorship in her country. But she doesn’t accept the applause alone — she dedicates it to her people... and even throws a shout-out to President Trump, who has repeatedly insisted he deserved it…OK…Now that’s a power move! In the words of KRS-One, she “stole the show and then she left without a clue.”But more than a move of power, or even a move of strategy (pacifying 47 and all…) it was a move of favor.Poetic JusticeMachado’s story reads like poetry. A leader banned from the ballot, silenced by her own government, yet still rallying a nation from safe houses and secret calls. When her voice was taken, she found another mic — the mic of moral courage. There’s an old Chinese proverb that asks, “Can you love your people and govern your domain without self-importance?” That’s high-level leadership — that’s ḥeseḏ (חֶסֶד): the Hebrew word for love fused with kindness, multiplied by faithfulness. It’s not just affection. It’s loyalty under pressure.Dr. King — another Nobel Peace Prize winner — said, “The universe bends toward justice.” Machado bent her plans toward good, even when systems tried to silence her, and she found herself surfing that same current of divine favor.Proverbs 14:22 says:“If you plan to do evil, you will be lost; if you plan to do good, you will receive unfailing love and faithfulness.”This isn’t about things going your way or you striking it lucky — it’s about direction. Intention. That long-haul walk of obedience and doing good because it is the right thing to do.Nobility Doesn’t Happen by AccidentWhen you plan good, grace finds you. You might be hidden, misunderstood, or blocked — but favor knows right where you’re at.Like Machado, you don’t wait for luck to strike — you plant the seeds, stay faithful, and when the door finally opens, you’re ready to walk through it.You don’t need luck to carry you. You need consistency. You need faithfulness. You need intention.Keep This in MindLuck drifts. But intention builds legacy. You don’t need a crowd to name you — favor will.PrayerLord, anchor my plans in kindness so favor finds its wayToday’s ChallengeBe kind. Even if it costs you something —time, risk, or courage.Do it quietly, without a post or a hashtag.Let that be your seed of favor.About the AuthorFred Lynch is a creative communicator, author, and Christian Hip Hop pioneer.
