The speeches had ended, the diplomas were handed out, and her daughter walked across the stage with a smile. But the real moment came later. After the ceremony, she overheard her daughter comforting a nervous friend, saying, “Don’t worry. Just take it step by step. You’ll get through this.”The mom froze. Those were her own words — words she had spoken for years in late-night talks, hard seasons, tear-streaked moments. And now, hearing them echoed back, lived out in her child’s own voice, she felt a wave of joy so deep it took her breath away. Her heart whispered: She got it. She really got it.You ever notice how kids find themselves mirroring us? Science calls it mirror neurons. From the time they’re babies, they pick up our tone, our expressions, even our habits. Sometimes that’s funny…sometimes it’s humbling.📖 Proverbs 23:15 says: “My son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad indeed.”That’s not just poetry. That’s someone saying: When wisdom shows up in you, joy shows up in me. That's that full circle of parenting or mentoring or discipling. It's not just limited to parents only. That whole mirror neuron thing, it's a reality that's programmed into our entire species. Talk about “Monkey See–Monkey do!” Well, we have plenty of that going around, just think about how much of it you scrolled past just to get here today! What about “Wisdom see–Wisdom do.” Ahh, that’s when good wisdom gets passed along. Where it’s not just taught, it’s caught.  And when it shows up in the life of someone that you care about, that you've poured into, it is “full circle”...like your heart and their hearts are beating in rhythm. It is full circle—like your heart and their hearts are beating in rhythm. Now maybe you’re still in the middle of the fight. Maybe the one you’re mentoring, parenting, or loving hasn’t caught it yet. I just wanna say take heart. Wisdom doesn’t evaporate. Seeds stay planted. One day, in God’s timing, they’ll sprout. So Reflect on ThisWhen wisdom takes root in someone else, joy takes root in you.PrayerLet the wisdom I plant take root and bear fruit.Today’s ChallengeSpeak one phrase of wisdom today — the kind you’d be glad to see mirrored back tomorrow.  Do it as a down payment for a future blooming of joy in your own heart.About the AuthorFred Lynch is a creative communicator, author, and Christian Hip Hop pioneer.
