Peace negotiated. Hope restored.” Or so they say. That was 15 days ago. Look again: tensions remain high and reports of violations have continued nonstop since the “so‑called” cease‑fire. “The situation stays complex and volatile. It’s important to stay updated with reliable news sources for the latest developments. At least that’s the official report from Microsoft Co-Pilot and Chat GPT that I got.So, while cameras rolled and diplomats smiled (just in time for the announcement of the Nobel Peace Prize), Gaza was and is still smoldering. Food is still blocked. Children are still crying. And the “cease‑fire”? Ask Chat-GPT — it’ll tell you.Is it fair to say that the ‘cease‑fire’ was trumpeted louder than it was actually practiced? (And yes… I said trumpeted. More on that later.)This isn’t just about headlines — it’s about helpless people caught between egos and empires. And that’s why Proverbs 28:15 hits like a modern‑day prophecy: “Like a roaring lion or a charging bear is a wicked ruler over a helpless people.”Let’s talk about it.📖 Picture the Scripture Now picture this: You’re living in ancient Israel. You ain’t got locks on your door, no ring camera, no 911 to call. When a lion roars or a bear charges— that’s it. No defense. No escape. And yes, wild lions did once roam the land of Israel; Syrian‑bears and other wild predators too. But they weren’t simply lurking in every village—they inhabited more remote regions and sometimes invaded towns, especially when prey was scarce. So when the proverb says, “a wicked ruler is like that,” the metaphor is rooted in real fear that the people understood and could really relate to.Because there’s one thing worse than a wild animal coming at you…It’s a leader once again trumpeting “peace–peace” when there is no peace.📰 Prophetic Parallels Here we are in 2025. A cease‑fire is declared between Israel and Hamas. But after the photo‑ops, the bombs kept falling. Who’s still stuck in the middle? Everyday Palestinian families. Israeli hostages’ families. People without a voice. Now, let’s be clear: kidnapping innocents is evil. But so is bombing neighborhoods in retaliation, starving civilians, and then cranking up the cameras to falsely claim “peace.” With the prize‑and‑photo campaign in full motion, the roar behind the trumpet is telling.Like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said:“A riot is the language of the unheard.” When people lose all access to justice, they sometimes do terrible things. But when the powerful respond with disproportionate force? That’s the lion. That’s the bear. That’s Proverbs 28:15.🗣️ So Here’s Our Charge It’s not the wild animal that we need to be concerned about… It’s the leader who becomes the beast while claiming to be a shepherd. So To Our Leaders: Tell the truth. Lead with integrity. Stop hiding real oppression behind your press releases. And To Our Listeners: Pray for our leaders… AND hold them accountable. The roar of injustice isn’t always in what’s said. It’s in what’s allowed. What’s ignored. And who gets left behind.PrayerGod, silence the lions, expose the bears, protect the people.Today’s Challenge🎯 Do one thing today that gives voice to the silent. 📢 Share this message. 📝 Write to your rep. 🙏 Pray boldly. 🎤 And always speak up for those without a mic.About the AuthorFred Lynch is a creative communicator, author, and Christian Hip Hop pioneer.
