Proverbs 1:21Yet wisdom’s song is not always heard in the halls of higher learning. But in the hustle and bustle of everyday life its lyrics can always be heard above the din of the crowd. You will hear wisdom’s warning as she preaches courageously to those who stop to listen.Proverbs Daily is a reader-supported publication. (Shout out to DIVULI and all my alumnus — love y’all) They took us to a Miami Heat game — back when Dwyane Wade was playing. And they hooked us up — the whole cohort got court side seats! So, seeing D-Wade up close? Man… his shoulders looked like bowling balls. That brother was massive. (Built like confidence and concrete.)Before the game we had dinner in the owners’ suite and got a taste of being in the room where power whispers and deals breathe.A mentor once told me:“When you get around wealth, ask what they’re reading. Wisdom leaves breadcrumbs — follow the trail.”So when the son-in-law who was running the team opened the floor up to us young aspiring future leaders for some Q&A, I decided use that advice and asked him in front of everyone,“What book has shaped you lately?”Everything froze. His face went blank. He didn’t have an answer — not one.Not because he was shy. Not because he was humble. But because he hadn’t been reading — anything. And I was like, “Wow”: Money got him in the room… But wisdom didn’t vouch for him. What Da Bible Say…And that’s exactly what that long verse in Proverbs is telling us:“Wisdom’s song is not always heard in the halls of higher learning… but in the hustle and bustle of everyday life…” Come thru Passion Translation! The verse is basically saying — To get familiar with wisdom, you don’t need a degree, title, or pedigree. Wisdom is out in these streets, navigating traffic, raising her voice above the noise — calling everyday people to level up — if we’ll stop long enough to listen. How do you Know — that you Know?Status isn’t proof of wisdom. Access isn’t proof of wisdom. A seat up in the suites isn’t proof of wisdom.Wisdom can live in a penthouse…and she can post up under a bus stop awning.Wisdom can ride in a Maybach…and she can ride the No. 9 bus. She’s outside. In the street. In the hustle and noise. Preaching. Singing. Humming. Warning. Calling out for anybody hungry enough to listen. She’s got a street ministry. She’s about the Father’s business And as far as she’s concerned, “Business is good.”From The STREETS To → The STREAMSNow back then, wisdom called in the streets. Today, she’s also calling out in these streams.• On timelines and algorithms • In traffic and in threads • In sidewalks and comment-sections • From DM’s to “for you” pagesSo LookThe question isn’t “Is wisdom speaking?” The real question is “Are we scrolling past her voice?”PrayerGod, help me notice and obey wisdom in everyday places.Today’s ChallengeGo outside and find wisdom. Not on a feed — on your feet. Listen to somebody you’d normally walk past. Notice what life is trying to teach you in real time.About the AuthorFred Lynch is a creative communicator, author, and Christian Hip Hop pioneer.
