Paulton traveled to Melksham for their third pre-season friendly on the 2014/15 campaign. I made the short journey round the corner from my house to cover this match for Somer Valley FM, flanked by my wife, daughter and an entourage of in-laws and neighbours!
The match pitted Nick Buynard against his former Manager, a man well known to Paulton fans, Darren Perrin.
After a sloppy start, Melksham proved worthy adversaries for the Southern Premier League new boys, stretching their visitors in a second half that could easily have seen the Western League outfit win the game.
