Meredith James Miller, 68 of Arjay, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at his home. James was born on August 18, 1948, and was a son of the late Ernest and Troy Brummett Miller. He believed in the Pentecostal faith and had worked as a Coal Miner, spending most of his career with the Great Western Coal Company and the James River Coal Company. James was also Vietnam Veteran, having proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gearldine Engle.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Wilma Jane Bailey Miller; children, Tony Miller and wife, Elizabeth, James Eric Lynn Miller, Kim Arnett, David Sanders and wife, Stephanie, and Angel Siler and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Austin Wilder, Megan Wilder and Isabella Blue Miller; extra special grandbabies, Gavin Sanders, Keaton Siler and Brylee Siler; brothers and sisters, Roy Miller and wife, Sondra, Lonnie Miller, Noel Miller, Kathy Martin and husband, Gilbert, Rosalee Brock, Rita Jeffers and husband, Larry, and Ernest Lee Miller; special friends, Charles and Rosemary Mosley, Charlie Lawson and Doyle Caldwell and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 14, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev Tim H Mills and Rev Charles Mosley Officiating. Burial followed in the Woolum Cemetery at Arjay with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
