This week on This is Rammy, I spoke to Maggie Gold who is the new owner of The Oaks on Bridge Street.
Maggie is also the owner of The Sundial on Walmersley Road in Bury, in the years that she’s been the owner there she has turned it around and stopped the trouble that used to surround it.
Taking on The Oaks is no small undertaking. It’s extremely well placed in Ramsbottom and if Maggie and the Andy the landlord and Nicola the landlady are able to make all the improvements that they want, it should be a fantastic place to go.
The Oaks has had it’s own troubled past,but Maggie is keen to turn it around, much like she has at The Sundial.
Maggie has been to The Oaks a number of times in the past as a customer so she knew about the pub before taking it on.
Live entertainment is still something that Maggie want’s to keep focused on in the pub, which is great to hear, the more live music venues we have in Ramsbottom, the better.
The Oaks is currently going through some refurbishment, a brand new bigger kitchen is being installed and food will be back on the menu as soon as that’s finished. Lovely to see that in the first week Maggie is already investing in making The Oaks better.
