This week I went down to the Hare and Hounds where they were hosting, for the second time an Open Mic night as a precursor to the Literary and Arts Festival that is due to take place in Ramsbottom on the 21st of November.
It was a great night, I met a lot of people I hadn’t met before and listened to a lot of great poetry. Many people think that it’s stuffy to listen to poems and get in touch with feelings, to those I say come down to the Literary and Arts festival and relax, you’ll enjoy it, I promise.
The organisers of the festival are still desperately trying to raise funds to help pay for this free festival that is taking place around Ramsbottom. The reason they are requesting donations is that they want to make it inclusive and accessible to everyone.
Again, this festival is FREE however its only made possible by donations and volunteers, so please, join me in donating something to this cause.
The group that started all this off was the Ramsbottom Writers Circle who meet the first Wednesday of every month at the Rose and Crown, Carr Street, Ramsbottom from 7pm to 9pm. It’s just £2.50 subs.
