Strength through Power Acts 1:8 Matthew 28:18-19
It is an amazing thing that God would choose to trust a group of quitters to take the message of salvation to the world. The disciples had all quit. They were discouraged, depressed, and defeated. Yet 40 days with Jesus and they had a change of attitude and perspective. That is what we all need, dose of Jesus.
Our Mission is not to be man pleasing but Spirit lead.
This requires us to:
1.
Live by His Power! Colossians 1:19-20 MSG
Requires the power of God to overcome our biases and prejudices.
2.
Pray big prayers. Acts 4:29-31(NKJV) We risk missing the amazing things God has for us because we do not ask for them.
Pray and praise, in the dark so that what God is preparing will be revealed to us in the light. Isaiah 54:1-3
How we pray and praise says a lot about what you think about God.
3.
Exchange fear and self-doubt for strength and courage. Acts 5:29-32(NKJV) Fear isn’t simply an emotion. The Bible tells us it’s a spirit from the enemy (2 Timothy 1:7).
God has not called us to something he has not equipped us for.
4. Prepare for new things. Acts 10:42-46 “God’s Word is the most effective guard against fear”!
5. Position God’s presence to guide your life. Acts 13:1-3(NKJV) You can’t take the land until God takes the lead.
We need to soak ourselves in God’s Word because we can’t follow what we don’t know!
We must let faith – not fear – forecast our future.
