John 8:12
We are living in a culture that is dominated by darkness. Dominated by deceit. Dominated by false
teachings. Seeing Romans 1:18-31 played out before our eyes.
Gallop Survey published February 22, 2022 says, “A record 7.1 percent of U.S. adults self-identify as lesbian,
gay, bisexual, transgender or something other than heterosexual, and members of Generation Z are driving the
growth.”
“21 percent of Gen Zers — which Gallup defines as those born between 1997 and 2003 — making them the
generational group with the largest proportion of LGBTQ people. Among millennials, 10.5 percent self-identify
as LGBTQ, while 4.2 percent of Generation X, 2.6 percent of baby boomers.”
Even the Christians are being deceived. Pew Research Center in a survey conducted by Claire Gecewicz, and
published October 1, 2018 states, “Most American adults self-identify as Christians. But many Christians also
hold what are sometimes characterized as “New Age” beliefs – including belief in reincarnation, astrology,
psychics and the presence of spiritual energy in physical objects like mountains or trees.
“Overall, roughly six-in-ten American adults accept at least one of these New Age beliefs. Specifically, four- n ten believe in psychics and that spiritual energy can be found in physical objects, while somewhat smaller
shares express belief in reincarnation (33%) and astrology (29%).”
Scripture refutes these beliefs: 1 John 4:1-3 2 Timothy 3:1-5
In this culture, What would Jesus Say? John 8:12 “I am the Light of the World!”
Psalm 119:130 2 Corinthians 4:6 John 1:4-5
When the Light of the World shines, darkness cannot put it out. It can't be extinguished. It will continue to do
what light does-drive out darkness!
1. The Light of Jesus Guides Us. Psalm 119:105
His Light reveals Truth! John 14:6
His Light shows us how to live.
His Light provides hope. Psalm 30:5
2. There is Power in Jesus’ Light. Colossians 1:13-14
When we allow Jesus' light to shine on our lives, it exposes our sins, our weaknesses, and our
shortcomings. But it doesn't leave us in a state of condemnation--leads us to repentance, forgiveness, and
ultimately, transformation.
This promise of eternal life is not just about the destination, but about the journey.
It's about living a life that is not just about us, but about Him. It's about living a life that is not just about
what we can get, but about what we can give. Matthew 16:25
We are to reflect the light of Christ to others. We are windows through which the light shines. Where can
you shine this coming week? Matthew 5:14-16
