Netflix’s dating reality show The Ultimatum returns on May 24. This time, the show is focusing on queer love. But the version of queer love depicted in the launch trailers appears limiting in its depiction of queerness and its understanding of what it means to be nonbinary even as it creates space for more queer stories to be told.
