Saint Valentine, the patron saint of epileptics and beekeepers, was beheaded at the hands of Roman Centurions on February 14, 225. For reasons no-one really understands – maybe because birds were once thought to pair up in mid-February – or perhaps because modern greeting card companies needed to make money – St. Valentine’s feast day has become associated with romance and love. Madison’s slinky blues/soul outfit Combo Noir isn’t buying the whole Valentine’s Day nonsense. They’re presenting “To Hell With Love” at the North Street Cabaret on February 14th.
