visa【签证】an official document that you get in your passport that allows you to travel legally to a country.

sponsor【资助,赞助】sponsor sb means you take care of them, make sure they have enough money. You’re the one who’s responsible for all their expenses.
>> Dozens of companies, including Hewlett-Packard, are sponsoring the event.

Sponsor
>>Race officials announced a handful of new sponsors on Tuesday.
>> He was the sponsor of the parade.
invitation letter【邀请函】a formal letter a friend, relative, or a business write to ask you to visit that country, you have to give that letter to visa officer.
tie【联系;关系;纽带】a strong connection between people or organizations, so the ties you have to your country is the things that keep you attached to your country, that make sure you’ll return to your country . tie作为动词是“捆绑”,“束缚”的意思,作为名词就是“关系”“联系”的意思,ties to sth就是你和某事之间存在的一种联系,存在的牵绊。
>> I sold my house, and closed my bank account, I don’t have any more ties to my home country.
>> Alvin enjoys being single, he wasn’t ready for the ties of family life.
>> Diplomatic relations have improved, and the ties between the two countries are stronger.
financially independent【经济独立】you have enough money for yourself, you don’t have to ask you parent to pay for your ticket or food or whatever.
asset【资产,财产】they are the things are value that you own, things are expensive that you own in your own country. Itcan be a house, a car, stocks or other investment.
>> Her assets include shares in the company and a house in France.
>> You do not need any guarantees or asset evaluation.
grant【同意,准予,允许】to agree to give sb what they ask for, especially formal or legal permission to do sth.
>>France has agreed to grant him political asylum.

where is your final destination and what’s the purpose of your trip to the United States?
this is probably gonna be the first question that the interview is gonna ask, it depends on what you’re doing, so if you’re a tourist, you’ll say “I’m going on a vacation to New York or anywhere”, if you’re visiting a family member, you’ll say “I’m gonna visit my sister, brother, cousin..”, if you’re applying for a business Visa, you would say “I’m gonna visit the company”, so you just have to say why you have to visit this country, the more specific you are, it’s probably better。
how long do you plan to remain in the United States?
it’s a pretty straightforward answer, 1 month, two months… but you just have to make sure that your answer matches what’s written on your application form。
tell me about the ties you have to your home country.
this is the question that the interviewer is most interested in, because he/she has to be sure that you’ll not become an illegal immigrants to the United States, that you’ll return to your own country, so you need to convince him/her by demonstrating your ties, showing him。
