Shares of online gaming giants Tencent and NetEase plunged over 8 percent and 5 percent today respectively, after Chinese regulators called in gaming firms yesterday to ensure they follow Beijing’s new restrictions on video gaming for minors.
Several major gaming publishers, game account rental platforms and video game live-streaming platforms were summoned for the meeting, which was held by the Publicity Department of the Chinese Communist Party and the National Press and Publication Administration (NAPP).
The gaming industry is facing stronger supervision as they are required to "fully and faithfully" impose time limit on underage gamers and ban account trading services for minors.
China is the world’s largest video gaming market, with 63 percent of active users are underage. Despite new guideline that only allows minors to play 3 hours every week, media investigations found that they can easily skirt around restrictions by renting or buying accounts registered by adults on the internet.
Tencent Games, one of China's biggest video game developers, said on Monday that it has sued more than 20 platforms that trade game accounts, a move in response to the lack of supervision of online stores that rent and sell accounts to minors.
所谓“上有政策下有对策”，最严防沉迷新规出台不到两周，未成年人网上租号绕开系统限制的灰市交易就被送上热搜，腾讯、网易等重点平台被约谈。
9月8日，中央宣传部、国家新闻出版署有关负责人会同中央网信办、文化和旅游部等部门，对腾讯、网易等重点网络游戏企业和游戏账号租售平台、游戏直播平台进行约谈，强调要不折不扣执行向未成年人提供网络游戏的时段时长限制，不得以任何形式向未成年人提供网络游戏账号租售交易服务。
调查数据显示，2020年，上网玩游戏的未成年网民比例为62.5%。在新规落地后，多家媒体调查发现，游戏租号、买号等行为仍可绕开防沉迷新规，并迅速形成灰色产业。由于账号交易行为有很明显的持续性、隐蔽性，因此行政执法较难有效的打击。
针对这次约谈，腾讯回应称，将认真学习约谈精神，从严落实未成年人防沉迷的相关规范和要求。而就在周一，腾讯游戏表示已起诉20多家游戏账户的交易平台，向淘手游、5173等超过20家游戏帐号交易平台发起诉讼，并向淘宝、京东等电商平台发出律师函投诉。

New Guangdong-Macao Channel Qingmao Checkpoint, which can handle 200,000 pass-throughs daily, began pedestrian crossings 24/7 on Wednesday with the latest hi-tech border equipment in China. The checkpoint has 100 self-service inspection channels and 12 staffed channels. A "Joint Inspection & One-Time Release" mode will have travelers queue and have documents examined only once with average customs clearance time of 30 seconds.
青茂口岸于9月8日下午3时正式启用，该口岸实行24小时开放，设计日通关量20万人次，共建有合作快捷查验通道(合作自助查验通道)100条、传统人工查验通道12条。“合作查验，一次放行”边检查验模式，将平均通关时间缩短至30秒左右，切实提升口岸通行人员的便利性和舒适性。

China's consumer price index (CPI) rose by a slower pace of 0.8 percent year on year in August, driven by a drop in food prices. The producer price index (PPI) went up faster at 9.5 percent due to price rises in coal, steel and chemicals, data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed Thursday.

Stock in the electric-car maker Nio dropped more than 6 percent Wednesday after it announced plans to sell $2 billion of American depositary shares, expanding its cash holdings amid supply-chain disruptions in advance of its planned Hong Kong flotation. If completed, Nio’s deal would be the biggest U.S. equity offering by a Chinese firm since Didi’s now-infamous initial public offering in June.
蔚来汽车9月8日宣布，将通过市场股票发行计划出售总额高达20亿美元的美国存托股票（ADS），当天美股收盘暴跌6.04%。一旦蔚来汽车获得融资，这将是继滴滴上市以来，中概股在美股市场首次获得大额融资。

China’s new national pension company gained regulatory approval Wednesday. Veteran banker Huang Tao and senior forex official Ye Haisheng were nominated to run the 11.15 billion yuan pension fund. The state-owned pension institution was created to address a massive funding gap as China’s rapidly aging population and shrinking workforce put more pressure on the state pension system’s finances.
9月8日，国民养老保险公司获批筹建，注册资本金111.5亿元，注册地为北京。根据银保监会官网披露，国民养老的拟任董事长为叶海生，拟任总经理为黄涛。国民养老保险公司是我国第三支柱养老金体系规划中的重要组成部分，作为目前养老保险的补充，来应对日渐严峻的人口老龄化问题所带来的挑战。
