Trumprisks sugar rush with Coke sweetener call
President Donald Trump says he has persuadedCoca-Cola to switch from processed corn syrup to cane sugar in the US versionof its iconic soft drink — because it’s ‘just better’. The move could havepolitical repercussions as many farms that produce the syrup are inmid-western states that backed him. Cane sugar comes mainly from Florida andLouisiana, and is also imported. Coca-Cola said details on new product offeringswould be shared ‘soon’.
