White­hall rules demand­ing ‘sup­plier neut­ral’ brand­ing from bod­ies that win gov­ern­ment con­tracts are present­ing a threat to cer­tain gradu­ate recruit­ment schemes. Teach First, Front­line and Unlocked Gradu­ates were designed to bring people who might not have con­sidered pub­lic ser­vice roles into teach­ing, pris­ons and social care. But there are fears the new regime favours big profit-mak­ing con­tract­ors by over­look­ing ‘mis­sion-led’ spe­cial­ists.
