2019 Dec Nocturnal Series “Rabbit Hole”
Should be the last Progressive House upload for 2019. Attempted to close the year with a good one. Sasha, Depeche Mode, Nora En Pure, CamelPhat, Howling and Rüfüs du Sol make up a great playlist. At the crossover between Indie/Alternative and House, which is the space were most of the great tunes are recently coming from.
A few Xtian’s Edits, with 2 half-decent original mashups. The Dub version of Finally is a bit off key and overly ambitious (sorry) but the mashups do work.
Playlist:
Highlights:
“Never Let Me Down Again” from Depeche Mode. They started it and are still relevant.
“Stole the Night” from Howling. Haunting, driving tune with pure production courtesy of Oliver Koletzki. Perfect example of the crossover between Indie and Progressive house. Howling (a semi local Australian band) doesn't make your run of the mill music. They make music that is full of emotion, richness, melody and a unique pop sound. Howling is composed of Innervisions core artist and one half of Âme, Frank Wiedemann, and RY X of The Acid. As for Oliver Koletzki, he seems to pop up frequently on my radar. Born in Braunschweig, he is a German dance/house music producer and DJ. He is currently based in Berlin, Germany. “Artic Voices” further down in the set also shows his immense talent.

“Homebound” from Nora En Pure (love what she does). Might have butchered it with my KOT dub. Still, great keys from Nora.
“Out of Time” from Sasha… Because it is a great techno/progressive track and because Sasha is with Paul Oakenfold and Tiestö one of the 3 real superstar DJs.
Rüfüs du SOL “Another Life” and “Solace”. What a talented song writer coupled with an interesting voice! No wonder all the great remixers are working his tunes. Rüfüs Du Sol, styled as RÜFÜS DU SOL is an Australian alternative dance group from Sydney, that consists of Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt. With Eli & Fur, Nora En Pure and Rae, my favourite “new” songwriter.

“No One Home” from Ana Criado. Ana Criado is a frequent vocalist on a ton of trance tracks. What I did not know is that she is also a great songwriter. BIG TRACK!

I should really credit the CamelPhat tunes and the the No Time for Hulk tech number. But running out of time.
Lots of good tracks in this uploads.
I have exhausted the backlog of Progressive and Trance. I feel like listening to lighter and happier tracks and reconnect with Soulful and Deep House. That’s where I will be for the next few uploads of 2019.
A bientôt.
