Description

Technology educators across New Zealand are raising serious concerns about the government's proposed curriculum reforms, warning they could dismantle what’s widely regarded as a world-leading approach to teaching. At the heart of the issue is a shift toward categorising subjects as either “vocational” or “academic”—a move teachers say oversimplifies the diverse pathways students take through technology education. They fear this binary framing could stigmatise hands-on learning and limit students’ access to creative, contextualised teaching that blends practical skills with theoretical knowledge.

Welcome to Episode 5 of the Crystal Carrier Wave Podcast.

Back in Invercargill after an unexpected extended stay in Dunedin from the 1st October through 13th October.

Great to be back home and back in the Studio, although I have had a slight mishap with the website database. while getting a few things dialed in for the Radio Station, I managed to nuke out the Wordpress database. Needless to say, serves me right for not having a recent backup. A minor oversight has cost me a few articles but a new backup schedule has been implemented.

as always, if you have anything you'd like to share with the show, you can email podcast ..at.. zl4kj dot nz I would love to hear from you.
