For example, look no further than Caesars Palace. This is a property that opened as a 700-room resort and today has almost 4,000. 360 Vegas Reviews - Fantasy @Luxor
We recently released the 360 Vegas show review for X-Country, and Mrs Jaydubs complained that we spent half the review talking about Fantasy. I can’t help it, though. Fantasy is the litmus test by which all other Vegas topless revues will be judged for a long time. Note: I have in the past referred to Fantasy as the Gold Standard of Vegas topless revues, and thought I was very clever for coming up with that. Then I saw the same words on a Fantasy poster on the way into Luxor and realized I was just subconsciously plagiarizing some...

People will try to describe the experience you have at the Sphere but let’s start with saying it unlike anything you've experienced before. It doesn’t matter if you see the film or a live act, this will be different. Which is exactly what Madison Square Garden Company was going for with the Sphere. You’ll find a lot of comparisons to IMAX, Disney’s Soaring Attraction, 360 theaters but that’s only because how else do you describe something never done before. The Sphere is one of those rare attractions that lives up to the hype, not only breaking the technologi...

360 Vintage Vegas - Kenny Epstein
Most of you probably don’t know who Kenny Epstein is, but you should. He’s the owner and CEO of El Cortez. Much more than that, he’s the guy that made the conscious decision to not remodel the property but to refresh it while retaining the vintage feel the property permeates. Kenny understands what El Cortez does so well and sees the value in continuing to service those customers. So instead he upgraded just about everything in the property, all without changing the esthetic. This year, the El Cortez, and Kenny, celebrate their 80th birthday. So we took the op...

Patreon.com/360Vegas Something for everyone, that’s what Vegas has that makes it a magical destination. It took decades for the market to get that way but it seems every time change is needed, the city finds a way to adapt and evolve. At the end, the Hacienda looked miniature next to its new neighbors Luxor and Excalibur. Like many properties before it and since, the Hacienda evolved as much as it could but ultimately had to be imploded to make room for the future of the strip. Thankfully part of that evolution includes other properties adapting to cater to the...

To summarize, although there were multiple service issues, it didn’t spoil our enjoyment. This place should do very well, having good beers, burgers and pizza right off the bat. The draw is going to be that roof terrace, the drawback is going to be the location. Price wise it’s in line with the rest of the strip with $11 beers and food at resort level pricing. Overall in our opinion, it’s worth a visit. It will be interesting to hear what other people think.

Most remember the Riviera as the old rundown place it felt like towards the end of its existence. But the Riviera roamed the landscape like giants for a time, attracting the biggest names in entertainment. However that was a long time ago and the Riviera was not able to keep up with changing tastes. While the Vintage Vegas podcasts tell the story of this evolution, they don't tell it in chronological order. That is exactly how we will present the Evolution of Vegas series. PCP - 360 Vintage Vegas: Landmark
The Landmark existed for 34 years, 1961-1995, and during that time, sat empty and unused for a 3rd of its life. Make no mistake, the Landmark was a great idea. It just never had the support it needed to reach its potential. It resembles everything that is great about Las Vegas. Any grand idea can live here, if only here. Want to build Paris in the desert, sure; Recreate ancient Roman decadence, why not; put a casino in the sky, give it a shot. The sobering reality is it takes much more than a visionary idea to succeed in Vegas and th...

It can be credited as the property that brought me to Vegas for the first time with a theme that made me say "I have to go see that". While it’s true, over the years, I’ve not spent a lot of time at Luxor. In fact, I haven’t stayed at the property since my fi...

While we do that, we'll compare the films version of Vegas to the one that actually existed at the time as well as today. But before we do that, lets reestablish the rules. We want to see how close the movie storyline matches what really happened. We'll start by assuming both are exactly the same and analyze the movie to e...

PCP - 360 Vintage Vegas: Imperial Palace
Imperial Palace. Never have two words meant such polar opposites to people, depending on what side of the globe they live on. To the Japanese, it is the elegant residence of the Emperor; a sprawling park like area with Edo (E-Doe) Castle as its centerpiece. Originally build in 1457, in the 1980s, it's value was greater than that of the entire state of California. For the record, that's real estate about the size of Disneyland. Also in the 1980s, the Imperial Palace came to be known as a hotel casino on the Las Vegas strip. Unlike its namesake, while inflation would...

The Thunderbird is a property I've never paid much attention to, for no particular reason. I wasn't offended by it's Native American theme, that's not really my style. That being said, I will say the theme was about as interesting to me as the cowboy motif at the El Rancho or the Last Frontier. Being a child of technology, harkening back to a day when it didn't have anything isn't my idea of a vacation, it sounds like torture. One of the most fascinating things about Las Vegas is its unique ability to take things I normally wouldn't find interesting and mak...

360 Vintage Vegas: PCP-The El Rancho: The 1st Resort on the Strip
*Premium Content Preview* Isolated gambling clubs existed on Highway 91 before 1941 but the concept of a full scale resort with overnight accommodations, gaming, dining, entertainment and shopping all in one vacation destination wasn’t conceived as something anyone would want in the harsh desert climate. The El Rancho not only offered something Highway 91 had never seen, it set a precedent by creating a themed vacation destination that would shape what would later become the Las Vegas Strip. This is the story of the El Rancho Vegas.

360 Vintage Vegas: PCP-Billy Wilkerson and the Flamingo
*Premium Content Preview* History hasn’t been fair to Billy Wilkerson. For years, a myth has lived in romantic Hollywood lour that Bugsy Siegel is the father of modern Vegas. When in truth, it was stolen and ruined by the notorious gangster who caused the project to cost 6 times more than its original projected cost. When it finally opened, it was a disaster of such catastrophic proportions that his partners in the mafia had him killed. Now it is time to set the record straight about the real man behind the Flamingo.

Architecture, if done well, is much more than just the designing of a building; its creating a durable structure that is not only functional but beautiful. Every building is designed by an architect however it takes vision and skill to transcend the steel, concrete and glass jungles of major metropolitan cities to create things that stands out in someone’s mind, and in some cases in history, as exceptional representations of the craft, inspiring future generations to take architecture to the next level; to continue to evolve with science and create something timeless. While the best to ever live are often unknown to...

360 Vegas Review: Golden Gate Hotel and Casino Spring 2016
It is literally the original hotel in Las Vegas, built in 1906 and given the address 1 Fremont St. It was originally the Hotel Nevada, then in 31 it became a casino and was renamed Sal Sagev, Las Vegas backwards until 1955 when a group of Italian-Americans from San Francisco rethemed it into the Golden Gate. Fast forward to today and this isn’t what you would expect out of a 110 year old property. This is the very definition of classic. It’s old without being dated, it’s small without feeling cramped and it's themed without being gaudy. Much of that can be...

At first glance you may think this is just another gastropub and you'd be right but this is one of the good ones. Two stories with a 2nd floor, outdoor patio, located at the eastern most part of the promenade at LINQ, YardHouse has, what is known as, a prime location.
