Afrika für AlmansAfA #11 Elfenbeinküste[DE] Das Land der Ivorer war einst afrikanisches Vorzeigemodell und Musterland. Unter dem Nationalhelden Felix Houphouët-Boigny stieg es auf zu großer politischer und wirtschaftlicher Bedeutung, eng verbunden mit der ehemaligen Kolonialmacht Frankreich. Aus dieser Zeit stammt auch der Bau der größten Kathedrale der Welt (s. Foto). Durch die anschließenden Jahre der Bürgerkriege, Spaltung und Armut wurde die Elfenbeinküste schwer in Mitleidenschaft gezogen, seit 2011 geht es aber wieder politisch und wirtschaftlich bergauf.
