While Yang uses a measured tone, avoiding sensationalism, the facts detailing SBF's shocking hubris and willingness to risk the funds of others will appall listeners. Even listeners with no interest in crypto will be transfixed by the greed and lies that transformed an altruistic endeavor into a con that duped millions and cost billions.

While Disney might have revitalized the King of the Wild Frontier for 1950s TV, the real Crockett was a rugged frontiersman who went from dirt-poor Tennessee hunter to Congress, fought for and then against (politically) Andrew Jackson, and died fighting at the Alamo rather than retire to a cushy job in D.C.. We explore how this self-made legend built his own mythology back when the media landscape pushing for Western expansion and manifest destiny, all through the lens of Tennessee...

Andrew Gifford Jr. Pt.3
As explained before, Gifford’s friends were almost all outside of Particular Baptist circles. I noted his personal friendship with George Whitefield and his preaching for him. Whitefield was, of course, already famous. And with other early friends such as Sir Richard Ellys, it seems that Gifford’s mental gifts, manner, and spirituality gained him connections in prestigious places. This is somewhat surprising since he remained a staunch dissenter. But his life was filled with service to good causes, including those not in precise alignment with his own religious convictions.

Originally written during the Vietnam War but set during The Great War, Eric Bogle's 1971 ballad treating the ultimate sacrifices paid by Australia's young men, was movingly covered by The Pogues (and many others), is anti-war but not anti-soldier.
