Dr. Matthias Küntzel, Politikwissenschaftler und Historiker aus Hamburg, belegt: 1937 kam mit der Broschüre „Islam und Judentum“ eine neue Form von Judenhass in die Welt: der islamische Antisemitismus. Im Koran ist Hass auf Juden schon angelegt. Aber auch Respekt vor der jüdischen Religion.
So gibt es gravierende Unterschiede im islamischen Antijudaismus des 7. und 8. Jahrhunderts zum europäischen Antisemitismus, der erst im 19. Jahrhundert entstand. In Archiven und Büchereien hat Küntzel einzigartige Quellen gefunden, die die Entwicklung vom religiösen zum eliminatorischen Antisemitismus aufzeigen.
