Between July 1979 to May 1981, at least 28 African American children, adolescents and adults were murdered in Atlanta Georgia. These murders are often referred to as The Atlanta Child Murders. In June of 1981, a 23-year-old man was arrested and convicted for two of the adult murders. The rest of the cases were closed following his conviction.
