Dr. Anthony (Tony) Doob joined us to discuss the lack of mental health services and educational programs in the Canadian correctional facilities, and we also discussed the sad story of Timothy McConnel. Lana Greene, the mother of Timothy (23-year-old who took his own life while in prison), believes her son was committing crimes to support his addiction, which he had struggled with for three years. She believed her son might qualify for the drug court program for non-violent offenders seeking addiction treatment. It appears that he never received the support he needed.
