The provided text chronicles the investigation and trial of Jim Krauseneck for the murder of his wife, Cathy, in 1982. The sources detail the timeline of events leading up to Cathy’s death, the initial investigation which focused on Jim as a suspect, the case going cold for decades, and its eventual reopening in 2015. After a lengthy investigation, Jim was indicted, tried, and ultimately convicted of second-degree murder in 2022.
