Clean Energy Fuels (NASDAQ: CLNE) has signed an agreement with the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Texas, to build its first private compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station. This station will serve 120 of METRO’s new CNG-powered buses operating in Houston.
Clean Energy will design, build, and maintain the facility, which is expected to use 2 million gallons of CNG annually. The station is key to METRO's goal of running zero-emission vehicles by 2030, reducing nitrogen oxide (NOx) and tailpipe emissions by 90%.

Green Stock NewsClean Energy Fuels ($CLNE) to Supply Renewable Natural Gas to San Diego Metro Transit SystemClean Energy Fuels (NASDAQ: CLNE) has been awarded a contract to provide 86 million gallons of renewable natural gas (RNG) to the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) to power their bus fleet. This is a significant step forward in the transition to clean energy in the transportation industry.
RNG is a much cleaner alternative to traditional fossil fuels and is expected to reduce 73,972 metric tons of carbon dioxide per year, the equivalent of planting 1.2 million trees, taking 15, 939 gasoline cars off the road, or recycling 25,596 tons of landfill waste.
